Red runner oothecae are the egg cases of the Blatta lateralis (commonly called red runner or Turkistan roach). Each ootheca typically contains 20–30 baby nymphs, which hatch within 2–4 weeks under optimal conditions. These roaches are prized as hardy, non-climbing, non-burrowing feeder insects — perfect for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and other insectivorous pets.

Hatching Red runners 

• Place ootheca on a dry paper towel or egg carton piece.
• Keep in a ventilated container at warm temperature (85–95°F).
• Lightly mist once a day or maintain a humid environment (~50–60%).
• Nymphs hatch within a few weeks — feed fresh fruits, vegetables, and oats to grow your colony.
